"I’ve made some friends and discovered a new hobby in Adventure Racing....I love trying new things and getting outdoors, but even better: someone organising it all for me!" Rowena, Parramatta
"So far I have done kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing and hiking. My favourite activity hands down would have to be surfing. I have always watched people surf and thought “I wish I could do that” ... and you know what? Now I am surfing and it’s the best feeling ever! Thanks club O2!" Lilly, Cronulla
“I went to the club O2 tennis day, got some hot tips from Jeff Fenech at Sydney's Biggest Boxercise, take advantage of the kayaking and tennis court hire discounts, jog weekly with the North Sydney running club, learned some new skills at the mountain-biking clinic ... but I'd have to say my favourite event so far has been the Urban Orienteering event at Leichhardt. What a great way to spend a Sunday morning! And it didn't hurt that our team of girls collected more points than my boyfriend's team of boys :)" Amanda, St Leonards
“You had me at 'Move Outdoors'. Not a fan of working out in a gym and club O2 was a good way to get outdoors and get fit whilst trying out different activities. You also get to meet lovely likeminded people and I’ve done a range of awesome activities. Must say the abseiling and canyoning are recent activities that stand out. The dance taster session was fun too!” Raki, Neutral Bay
“We joined club O2 because we liked the idea of a "one-stop shop" for outdoor activities around the city. We also thought it would be a great opportunity to meet other like minded people and have fun whilst getting fit and enjoying the outdoor life and our beautiful city. We really enjoyed the bowls in Paddo and the kayaking in Balmoral, however the stand out was the sailing afternoon, which was excellent. Fantastic to be out on the harbour and learning how to sail at the same time. Winning one of the races would have topped it off though :)” Julie and Richard, Prymont
"My first event was a club O2 "try it" paddle boarding day and I was hooked! It's such a great way to get involved in fun outdoor activities and meet new people!" Jennie, Waverton
"I had made it my New Years Resolution to learn how to play tennis so went along to the club O2 Tennis afternoon in January. It allowed me to see if I felt comfortable with what Tennis World in North Sydney had to offer and if I liked the coaches. It was a fun afternoon and Wayne who provided some coaching even managed to get me to serve a ball over the net! The people that attended the event were lovely and were also very patient with players who were beginners. Since the Tennis event, I am now enrolled in my second term of group lessons with my new found tennis friends and am actually starting to play social tennis with other club O2 members at North Sydney on Wednesday nights. I am now not afraid to give it a go and definitely got a buzz out of being moved up into the intermediate class when I started my second term of tennis a couple of weeks ago!" Leah, Crows Nest
"I was looking for an interesting way to maintain my fitness during footy off-season. The opportunity to try different activities means that I will be more likely to choose something I will enjoy and stick with it. My main goal is to continue to improve my running times and club O2 Running Club is helping me to achieve this. Even though the group is all at different levels, Heather still ensures we challenge ourselves individually each session and my times are definitely improving. With Heather’s encouragement, I have participated in a few ‘fun runs’ over the past few months and have been pleased with my results." Harleigh, Cronulla
“I’m loving it all: Hiking, Orienteering, Running Club, Pilates, Boxing and soon Kayaking (I’m really looking forward to these sessions). I’m also really loving that my children are keen to join in as well (the discounts are fantastic). The free events on offer are also a great introduction to a wide variety of activities (this was helpful when I was deciding whether to take up boxing).
Before I joined club O2 six months ago, I was all work and no play (not to mention completely unfit). I knew I needed to put some effort into my fitness, as I was just so tired all the time, so I decided to throw myself in the deep end and tackle The Bridge Run as my six month goal. Having never really jogged before, I decided to start with club O2’s Running Club and then gradually added in pilates for core strength and boxing for an upper body workout. Happy to report that I completed the Bridge Run and the St George Brighton Dash – I now have my sights set on the Fun Run at Olympic Park next month. And credit where it's due, thank you SO much for your encouragement and enthusiasm in helping me complete my first run, especially in those first few months of Running Club.” Stacey, Cronulla
“I found club O2 on the meetup.com website, which i have been using for several years to find Spanish conversation groups. It was exactly what i had been looking for; an easy way to try loads of new sports/activities and meet like minded people. Club O2 take all the stress out it! I would never have got around to organising half the activities Ive done such as kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing or abseiling in the blue mountains!” Chris, Newtown
